Show your support

Whether you are seeking support, looking to give back or wanting to share your professional expertise, there is a place for you at our table. Our café thrives on the diverse contributions of our neighbours.

Get involved in the Tide & Times community

For people living with dementia, and those who care for them

Members visit a consistent space – somewhere that isn’t home and isn’t a doctor’s office – where they can rediscover joy and find a community that truly ‘gets it’.

As a member, you will enjoy:

  • Twice-weekly access – Join us every Tuesday and/or Thursday in a relaxed, café-style environment.

  • Social connection – Participation in all music, art and conversation groups.

  • Expert guidance – Priority access to guest speaker sessions and our resources library.

  • A supportive network – A safe space to build lasting friendships with others on a similar journey.

Café members

For locals who want to offer their time and compassion

Our volunteers help to make members feel welcome.

You don’t need to be a medical professional – you just need to offer warmth and patience with a smile.

As a volunteer, you will help us:

  • Foster connections – Provide companionship and engage in meaningful conversations with members.

  • Support activities – Assist with setting up and running our art and music programs.

  • Create a welcoming atmosphere – Serve light refreshments and ensure every guest feels seen and valued.

You will also grow your skills, learning about dementia and participating in specialised dementia awareness training.

Flexible shifts and a variety of roles are available.

Café volunteers

For local businesses and health professionals

We believe it takes a village to create a dementia-friendly world. We invite local professionals and business owners to integrate their services with our community.

As a community partner, you can involve yourself by:

  • Sharing your expertise – Join us as a guest speaker to provide education on healthcare, financial planning, estate planning or aged care topics.

  • Providing sponsorship – Support our mission through donations or by sponsoring a session to keep our resources free for members.

  • Offering services – Provide a discount or dementia-friendly hours for our members (e.g. local barbers, solicitors or therapists).

  • Building awareness – Help us turn our community into a recognised dementia-friendly precinct.

  • Creating impact – Strengthen your social responsibility and support vulnerable residents.
