I first sat with the dying when I was five years old, at my grandfather’s bedside. Over 40 years later, in 2017, this became my life’s work. By 2022, my mother was diagnosed with dementia – and I understood something I had only sensed before: families walking this road are doing it almost entirely alone. Tide & Times exists so they don’t have to. Our cafés, booklets, and bedside presence are free, by design. But ‘free’ comes with a cost – and right now, we are bearing that burden alone.
